WHO WE ARE

Born out of our Founder Members Mr. Mohinder Singh & Mrs. Achla Khanna’s deep desire to protect and safeguard as many vulnerable kids as one can as an individual, Welfare Home for Children was founded in 1979 with a mission to provide care, protection and a safe home like environment to every child in need.

We are working for the care, protection, education, welfare, rehabilitation and adoption of abandoned/orphan children. Our objective is to ensure that each child that steps into our home should feel that he or she is at home, even if temporarily.

Today, with over four decades of experience in working for child welfare and protection, Welfare Home for Children is a recognized and awarded voluntary organization, duly licensed and registered with the Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi and Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India.

Welfare Home for Children is affiliated to the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, to place children in loving homes. We follow the guidelines given by the Central Government. We believe that every child’s first right is to grow up with his/her own biological family. If this is not possible due to unforeseen circumstances, then the child has a right to be placed in a suitable adoptive family through a fair legal procedure. Precisely that’s why we follow a stringent and transparent adoption process as provided under Juvenile Justice Act.
